Mineral Makeup brings out your beauty naturally

Do you know what’s in the products you’re putting on your skin?

We live in a world that is more and more concerned with health. Whether it be the health of the planet, your physical health, or the properties of the food you eat.

But have you ever stopped to think about the health benefits or risks associated with makeup? Many beauty products contain ingredients that are less than ideal.

Mineral makeup is surging in popularity because it is made up of natural ingredients or minerals. It is free from less desirable ingredients like emollient oils, waxes, fragrances, preservatives, parabens, palm oils and fillers.

Mineral makeup:

  • Can help to soothe irritated skin
  • Is less likely to clog up your pores
  • Is easy to apply and blend
  • Is as light as air to wear
  • Tends to be kind to sensitive skin
  • Has been used for eons (we’re looking at you Cleopatra with those perfect cat eyes)

Our favourite mineral makeup line is made by Satori Minerals.

In fact, we love it so much that we use it in our Hills District salon located in the heart of Kellyville.

Why are we so obsessed with Satori Minerals Makeup?

Because their products are made of naturally sourced ingredients. They’re also cruelty free and vegan friendly. That’s right, they’re made by Mother Nature.

And Satori don’t stop with the ingredients used in their products. They also consider the environment in their packaging and when developing makeup tools like brushes.

How to use mineral makeup

Now is the perfect time to experiment with Satori Minerals’ products.

After all, the Hills District is still stuck in lockdown. We’re not going anywhere. Our high heels and best clothes are strictly wardrobe bound.

So why not play with some divine new makeup products so you can put your best face forward when lockdown ends?

It all starts with a perfect base

Satori offer a couple of choices when it comes to foundation. You can use a baked powder foundation for a lighter look. Or if you’re a liquid foundation girl, you can use Satori’s No Filter Full Coverage Mineral Liquid Foundation. Both come in a number of shades to perfectly match your skin.

The secret to getting an even, flawless base is to blend, blend, blend.

Let’s talk organic eyebrows

We get it. Enhancing or darkening your eyebrows can be a bit daunting.

You don’t want them to look blocky or so exaggerated that you scare small children!

But neither do you want your eyebrows to fade away to nothing.

The good news is, achieving beautiful brows is quite easy.

You just need to follow the tips below when applying Satori’s Organic Brow Powder:

Step 1 – Using an angled brow brush, start applying the Organic Brow powder near the start of your brow (the side nearest to your nose). Use the brush to sweep the brow powder over your eyebrows. You should use light strokes going across and upwards. You’re looking for a blended look from heavier application into a lighter application.

Step 2 –  For further blending you can use a brow brush or spoolie to blend and neaten up the brows. What’s a spoolie, you ask? It looks like a mascara brush without mascara on it.

Step 3 – Now it’s time for a final check. Look carefully at both your brows and ensure the shape is the same and that both brows are equally blended.

Step 4 – There’s nothing left to do. Your eyebrows are all done!

Another eyebrow option…fluffy brows are hot, hot, hot!

Gone are the days when we worshipped skinny brows. If you really want to follow the latest in make-up and beauty trends, try a fluffy brow.

To achieve a natural fluffy brow, brush the beginning of your eyebrow up. Then, use the spoolie to brush out the ends leaving the brow looking fuller and natural.

If you’re after a bolder fluffy brow, you brush the whole brow with outwards strokes creating a self-assured, confident look.

The fluffy brows Brow Soap does contain palm oil but don’t panic, it only contains sustainable palm oil from a certified farm.

The eyes have it

You can achieve a sultry look using Satori Minerals’ liquid eyeliner and the multi-purpose charcoal brow powder.

Step 1 – Using the brow powder and an angled brush, apply the powder to the corner of the eye and flick it up until you achieve your preferred length.

Step 2 – Still using the brow powder and angled brush, thinly apply the powder until you reach your tear duct.

Step 3 – To add more depth go across the top of the eye with the gel eyeliner and blend it with the angled brush.

Step 4 – Finally, apply the liquid eyeliner to the bottom lid of your eye across the waterline.

Say hello to ombre lips!

Learn the tips to plump your lips with Sartori lip liner and lipstick. This look is super on trend right now.

Step 1 – Outline your lips with a darker shade of lip liner than the two lipsticks you want to use.

Tip – If you want fuller looking lips, draw the line just outside of the lips. We love a good optical illusion when using mineral makeup.

Step 2 – Add a little of the lip liner to the corners of your lips to give them more dimension.

Step 3 – Use a flat brush to apply the lighter of your two lipsticks from the inside of your lips out.

Step 4 – Apply the darker of your two lipsticks to the corner of your lips.

Step 5 – Blend it all together with your lip brush. But don’t blend too much. Remember your trying to create a multi-toned effect.

Finishing touches

Make your face glow with Satori’s Mineral Baked Beauties.

You can use it over your liquid foundation to achieve fuller coverage.

But did you know that you can also use it as a highlighter?

Use this mineral makeup product to bring a shimmery look to the parts of your face you want to stand out, for example, your cheekbones.

For an everyday look for mature skin

Environmental conditions like the weather and air conditions can make your skin start to feel really dry.

If you’re looking for a quick makeup routine that combats dryness, dewy makeup is the way to go.

To achieve a pretty dewy look, avoid powders as much as possible. Your face will look more moisturised with a mineral liquid foundation.

If your skin is starting to show signs of ageing, liquid foundation is a great option as powders can enhance fine lines.

A dark bold eye is great for a bit of drama. But there’s no harm in adding a pop of colour to show off your individuality.

You might choose to use a coloured eyeliner to enhance your eye colour or a pretty shade of lipstick.

A touch of luxury
